Badminton is quick enough to make double elimination practical where tennis cannot. A best of three games to 21 with rally scoring runs about half an hour, and a club hall usually has four to six courts, so sixteen players in a double elimination is thirty matches and an afternoon rather than a weekend.
The mistake clubs most often make is inheriting the format from tennis. A straight knockout sends half the hall home after thirty minutes, on a night when people booked the court for two hours. If the event is social rather than a championship, groups of four into a knockout is the better shape, and nobody plays once and sits down.
Double elimination for a sixteen player club championship, which fits an afternoon on four courts. Groups of four into a knockout for a social night, where guaranteed games matter more than the title. Single elimination only when hall time is short.
Best of three games to 21, rally scoring, win by two with a cap at 30. Around thirty minutes a match, or fifteen for a single game to 21.
Four courts is the usual club hall, and that is what sets the pace: a round of eight matches is two slots on four courts.
For doubles, switch to the Teams division and put both players after a colon, so the printed draw names the pair rather than one of them.
Shuttles are the hidden cost of a longer format. Thirty matches in a double elimination gets through noticeably more than fifteen in a knockout.

Seeds are paired so the strongest and weakest meet first, which keeps the top seeds in opposite halves of the draw. This is the order the board is drawn in, top to bottom.
Rounds run one after another, because a round cannot start until the one feeding it has finished. Matches inside a round can all run at once, so the number of courts you have decides the day more than the number of entrants does.
